Mtandao Wa Vikundi Vya Wakulima Tanzania (MVIWATA) /Network of Small-scale Farmers Groups in Tanzania
MVIWATA needed to establish a Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation tool to enhance its capacity and assess its performance.
Mtandao Wa Vikundi Vya Wakulima Tanzania (MVIWATA) is the network of small-scale farmers’ groups in Tanzania founded in 1993. It is one of the most reputable grassroots organizations for farmers in Tanzania. They have a broad and growing membership of approximately 150,000 farmers in 23 regions of the country, including Zanzibar and Pemba.
The main objective of the survey was to provide MVIWATA with a well-designed results monitoring tool that would help MVIWATA to enhance its capacity and assess its performance. In order to come up with an M & E system, a baseline survey was conducted in four regions.
DPC designed the research tools, carried out data collection in the four selected regions (Mbeya, Manyara, Morogoro & Kilimanjaro), conducted the analysis and presented baseline findings, as well as developing an M & E system for MIWATA
